Steady in the Storms by Henry B. Erying

“When the storms in life come, you can be steady because you are standing on the rock of your faith in Jesus Christ.”

The greatest gift God can give us in this lifetime is the gift of peace through the trials that we face. If we choose to have faith in Heavenly Father and His plan for us, we can endure through hard times and still feel peace deep in our soul, despite our circumstances.

The Faith to Ask and Then to Act by Henry B. Erying

“Faith in Jesus Christ is the key to receiving revelations of truth.”

Exercising our faith is the key to receiving revelation from God. If we are not having faith in Heavenly Father, we won’t be able to feel His presence or the Holy Ghost. Faith is the foundation of religion, Christianity, and a personal relationship with God and Jesus Christ.

Try, Try, Try by Henry B. Erying

“The Savior is putting His name in your hearts. And you are feeling the pure love of Christ for others and for yourself.”

President Eyring tells us about something he heard once; if you meet someone, treat them as if they are going through something awful, and you will be right half the time. You never know when someone is struggling, so we should treat everyone with love and respect at all times. He also reminds us that this earthly life is full of tests and opportunities for us to learn and grow. It’s not meant to be comfortable or easy. It’s meant to be a learning experience.

Adversity by Henry B. Erying

“I bear you my testimony that God the Father lives. He set a course for each of us that can polish and perfect us to be with Him.”

President Eyring touches on a topic that many people come across at different points in their life, why does God allow for bad things to happen? He offers a unique perspective that brings a lot of peace and clarity and unshakable faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

The Holy Ghost as Your Companion by Henry B. Erying

“We can, if we live worthy of it, have the blessing of the Spirit to be with us, not only now and then but always.”

The Holy Ghost is a gift unlike any other. How amazing is it to know that if we so desire, we can have a constant companion with us to offer us revelation or act as a strength to lean on to resist temptation? In the world we live in, resisting temptation is harder than ever, and the Holy Ghost is a wonderful gift.

I Love to See the Temple by Henry B. Erying

“It is in the temple that we can receive the assurance of loving family connections that will continue after death and last for eternity.”

There’s no denying the holiness of our temples. The feeling of peace, comfort, and tranquility that you feel when you’re inside the temple is evidence enough. But the revelation and presence of the Spirit in the temple is something you can’t receive anywhere else.

Tested, Proved, and Polished by Henry B. Erying

“The greatest blessing that will come when we prove ourselves faithful to our covenants during our trials will be a change in our natures.”

It’s important to remember that if we don’t have trials and temptations, we won’t ever be given the opportunity to choose the right. And the more opportunities we have to choose the right, and we do so, the more like Christ we become. And being like Christ is our ultimate goal.

Finding Personal Peace by Henry B. Erying

“I pray that you may find peace, help many others to find it, and pass it along.”

Some people think that peace means being free of stressors, trials, etc., and feeling a sense of happiness. But that’s not what peace is. Peace is being able to remain faithful and content through hard times, knowing that you are not alone and everything is going to be okay.

Legacy of Encouragement by Henry B. Erying

“I encourage you to continue striving to qualify to return to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.”

Through our struggles, we must remember that what matters most in this life is that we are able to return to our Heavenly Father. And to do that, we must endure to the end and choose the right when faced with challenges and trials.

The Comforter by Henry B. Erying

“I give my witness that the living Christ sends the Holy Ghost, the Comforter, to those we are pledged to help Him comfort.”

As wonderful as it is to have a constant source of comfort in the Holy Ghost, we can offer comfort to others as well. God works through His children to answer prayers. If we receive promptings to help someone, odds are that they are praying to Heavenly Father for help, and He is giving us the opportunity to serve our brothers and sisters and do God’s work.

Continuing Revelation by Henry B. Erying

“Human judgment and logical thinking will not be enough to get answers to the questions that matter most in life. We need revelation from God.”

The greatest questions in life do not have logical or scientific answers. They come from God as a revelation. These answers will come as we exercise our faith and trust in Heavenly Father.
